Overall bounce rate is up but no individual traffic source's bounce changed much
|
Learned so far:
- Site conversions are down but traffic is not
- Site conversion rates are down
- Overall bounce rate is up but no individual traffic source's bounce changed enough to account for the increase in bounces

Next steps:
This wizard ends here. But you should check with Marketing on the following
- This surprising situation can happen when the composition of your traffic changes towards channels where you have had higher bounce rates historically.
- (Say, your bounce rate with email campaigns is 30% and your bounce rate with PPC is 20%. So, if more of your traffic now is coming from email vs. previously from PPC you would have an overall increased bounce rate.)
- To confirm, run a report on your traffic sources in Unica NetInsight. Then do a date comparison analysis between current vs. last period prior to the issues. Watch whether traffic has shifted to channels with higher than average bounce rates
- Work with Marketing to counter act, e.g. experiment with landing pages to bring those channels' bounce rates down.
